Fleetway Super Sonic

Aerial rushdown · Fleetway

Fleetway Super Sonic is the simplest kit in the game on paper: Flight, a Laser and a Grab, with a speed boost in Phase 3. In practice he divides opinion more than any other killer. Some players call him overpowered and post server wipes. Others found the single-shot Laser and the Grab hitbox too hard to land.

Verdict (A tier, release week v1.2): The highest skill ceiling of the five. Dominant when you can aim the Laser and land grabs, frustrating when you can't. See the tier list →

Abilities

Phases 1–3

  • Flight: Costs stamina, shows every survivor while airborne. Slamming down near survivors deals damage and knocks them back. On a 10-second cooldown at the start of each match, and since v1.19 a successful grab no longer resets its cooldown.
  • Chaos Laser: Single long-range shot that needs good aim.
  • Grab: Slow damage over time on its own, with a quick-time event to break free (made harder to escape before launch). The real damage comes from carrying the survivor with Flight and slamming them into walls.

Phase 3

  • Speed buff: Large movement speed increase for the rest of the round.

Since the v1.24 update (October 18) every killer's basic attack (M1) does 35 damage, up from 20 at launch, and all abilities and M1s cost stamina. See the update log. Phase timing and the escape timer are covered in the escape timer guide.

How to survive Fleetway Super Sonic

  • When Fleetway is flying, he can see you. Break line of sight instead of standing in open ground.
  • Stay near teammates. The Grab-and-carry combo is how Fleetway drags people away from help.
  • Strafe sideways when the Laser is lined up, because it is a single shot.

How to play Fleetway Super Sonic

  • Fly to find people. Every survivor is revealed while you're in the air, and slamming down near one deals damage and knocks them back.
  • Lead your Laser shots. It's one aimed shot, not a beam, so fire where the survivor is going.
  • The Grab does little damage on its own. Combine it with Flight to carry the survivor away from their team and slam them into walls.
  • In Phase 3 the speed boost makes chasing on foot much stronger.

Skins

  • Recolor: A slight palette change on his base model.

Skins don't change abilities. See every skin on the skins page.

According to the developers, Fleetway is the only official character in the game. He comes from the licensed Fleetway comics, which SEGA doesn't use itself. Every survivor is player-made.

Why A tier

Opinions split the hardest on Fleetway. The tester preview calls Fleetway “very, very powerful” and there are release-day videos titled “Fleetway Is OVERPOWERED” and “Fleetway Server Wipes”. One reviewer gave Fleetway 0/10 because the Laser is a single shot that has to be aimed while standing still. A good player wins with Fleetway. A new player can't hit anything. That puts Fleetway at the top of A.

FAQ

Is Fleetway overpowered?

For a player who can aim, he's very strong, which is why he's at the top of A tier. The Laser and Grab are hard to land, so he's weaker for new players.

How do you escape Fleetway's grab?

Stay close to teammates, since the grab is strongest when he can carry you away from help. Stuns from teammates are your best answer.
