Abyssal Escape Updates

A dated log of Abyssal Escape updates and official announcements since before the October 17 release, newest first. Each entry is based on the game's Roblox page or its official accounts and links to the source.

Full patch notes usually go to the official Discord first. When they're public, we summarize them here and update the tier list if balance changes.

  1. Update

    v1.26 (Alpha): Peekaboo rework

    • The Deity's Peekaboo now gives survivors only 5 seconds to find the real X.
    • The real X's animations are now 1.35x faster than his clones, so he's easier to spot.
    • Finding the real X no longer stuns him. Instead, his moves and M1 are disabled for 2 seconds.
    • Pushed live with no shutdown. The developer later said servers would be restarted so every server runs the new version.
  2. Update

    v1.25 (Alpha): shorter rounds

    • Each survivor now adds 45 seconds to the escape timer instead of 60, so full lobbies have shorter rounds.
  3. Update

    v1.24 (Alpha): killer M1 buff

    • All killer M1s now do 35 damage (20 at launch).
    • 2017X's Beast Form M1 now does 40 damage (35 at launch).
    • Killer M1 hitboxes are bigger, and the lingering hitbox after each M1 is shorter.
    • Survivors' jump cooldown is longer.
    • Pushed as a live update with no server shutdown. The Roblox page shows the game updated on October 18 at 14:09 UTC.
    • Players also report that healing is weaker after this update. That isn't in the posted notes, and we haven't confirmed it.
  4. Announcement

    Launch-day fixes and announcements

    • Servers were restarted to fix mobile and console crashes, followed by a fix for a coloring issue. The developer asked players to report any remaining crashes.
    • A new #feedback forum channel opened in the Discord.
    • Tester applications reopened for console and mobile players only (5 places).
    • A new survivor LMS theme was previewed, with one more still to come.
  5. Release

    Public release (alpha / PTB)

    • Abyssal Escape opened to the public on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at 3 PM UTC (11 AM EST, 4 PM BST).
    • Launch content: five killers (The Deity / X, No More Innocence, Fleetway Super Sonic, 2017X, Furnace), two maps, custom survivor vessels and ring-bought abilities.
    • Released as an alpha. The Roblox description warns players to expect bugs and glitches.
    • Not in the launch build: the LMS (last man standing) system, which reviewers say is still to come.
  6. Preview

    Last-minute animation options

    • New idle and run animation choices were added for survivor vessels just before launch.
  7. Preview

Furnace chase theme skin and LMS themes

    • After complaints about Furnace's chase theme, the developer swapped in an alternate version of his chase layers from older files. The other version is now a skin that costs 20 rings, so players can still choose it.
    • To celebrate 17,500 Discord members, the developer revealed the planned LMS themes: LMS 2 (Shadow / Knuckles themed), LMS 3 (Metal themed) and LMS 4 (Eggman themed).
  8. Preview

Preview: Metallic Charge ability (shipped in the release build)

    • The developers posted a short clip of “a possible extra release ability” called Metallic Charge on October 14, in a post marked “4 days remain”. It did make the release build: launch-day patch notes made it “way less slippery”, and v1.17, v1.21 and v1.22 fixed further Metallic Charge issues.
  9. Update

    Pre-release v0.0110: Metallic Charge added

    • A new survivor ability, Metallic Charge, was added to the build. The developer noted it “may be disabled on release if the testers deem it unbalanced”. It wasn't disabled: it shipped with the game.
    • New 2011X skin stun lines and new Furnace voice lines.
  10. Preview

    Preview: revamped 2017X intro

    • The official account showed a reworked intro animation for 2017X.
  11. Announcement

    Release date announced

    • Official announcement video and post: the game would be playable on October 17, 2026 (“the 17th of the spookiest month”), tagged as a PTB release.
  12. Preview

    Official killer gameplay videos

    • Gameplay videos for X, Furnace and a work-in-progress 2017X were posted on the official YouTube channel.
  13. Announcement

    What's in the release build

    • Confirmed for launch: 2 maps, 13 survivor abilities, 5 killers (two with completely different Phase 3 forms, so 7 in total), survivor size scaling, metal body types, killer skins for some killers, and PC, mobile and console support.
    • Not at launch: the LMS system, because there weren't enough LMS songs yet. The developer said it should follow soon after.
  14. Preview

Chase theme “layers” and Furnace effects

    • Around this date: layered chase theme videos for X (The Deity), 2011X, Furnace, Fleetway, No More Innocence and 2017X / Broken Face.
    • New visual effects for Furnace's Charge Heat.
  15. Announcement

    Approved for all ages (9+)

    • Roblox staff reviewed the game and approved it for all ages. It launched with a 9+ rating.
  16. Preview

HERO LMS theme and killer intros

    • The HERO LMS theme was revealed. According to the developers, LMS themes are awarded based on performance: if the killer outperforms the survivor, the killer gets their own LMS theme.
    • Shorts showing the Furnace and Fleetway intros, 2017X's Beast animations and a reworked NMI Phase 3 move.
  17. Announcement

    Post-launch roadmap

    • Day 1: Public Test Build (v1.0 PTB). Days 2–4: bug fixes and balancing from the PTB, then ongoing balance and bug-fix updates with the game kept open.
    • First content update: a secret collab killer, more survivor content (accessories, abilities, animations) and a new map.
  18. Announcement

    Roblox experience created

    • The game's Roblox place was created. The public could play from October 17.
